If you do not renew your license by the expiration date at 11:59 pm (or 5:00 pm if renewing by paper), your license becomes Expired automatically. MA nursing licenses have two designations: Current or Expired. To do so, you must renew and pay a renewal fee for each license.
In-person. Take your registration renewal notice and proof of current liability insurance to your county’s Tax Assessor-Collector office or an approved substation. Renewal date is the license's birthdate, triennially. Mail. Send the renewal notice, a copy of your Vehicle Inspection Report (VIR), proof of current liability insurance, and all fees to your county Tax Assessor- Collector office. When the Internet connection is lost the website connection can be terminated, resulting in a session expired message if you try to access any page after the Internet reconnects. Online. You can renew your vehicle registration online 90 days before the expiration date or up to six months after the expiration date, if you have not received a citation for expired registration. If you renew online, you’ll receive $1.00 discount. If your Internet connection is unstable, periodically disconnecting and reconnecting, it can cause a website session to expire. 
Remember, you must have a passing vehicle inspection before you can renew.
